Warmth After Winter

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith.

Galatians 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Fruit grows from the Spirit, not from gritted teeth alone. The list is relational and recognizable. October stress tests patience and self-control especially. Petition the Spirit for fruit by name where you are barren. No law against these—freedom to overflow. Love leads; self-control closes. Communities taste this fruit or taste the flesh. Tend the root by walking in the Spirit; fruit follows. Do not fake a cluster; seek the Gardener. Pick one underdeveloped fruit and pray it into today's meetings. Against such things there is no quota either—keep growing. Harvest shows who lives within.
