Hope for the Household
Isaiah 55:2Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which doesn't satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness.
Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Mis-spent money and unsatisfying labor get a divine why. Listen diligently and eat what is good redirect desire. Rich food here is God's fare for the soul and wise provision, not gluttony. October consumer habits deserve this audit. Where are you paying for emptiness? Labor that does not satisfy needs repentance and redesign. Listen before you swipe. Delight in what God calls good—His word, His ways, honest work, shared meals. Bread that is not bread wastes life. Come back to satisfying food. Spend and labor in ways that leave the soul full, not merely the cart full.
PrayerLord, stop me from spending and laboring for what does not satisfy—help me listen, eat what is good, and delight in You. Amen.
