Family Under Grace

For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don't use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

Galatians 5:13

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Freedom is a calling, not a loophole for selfishness. Opportunity for the flesh twists liberty into license. Through love serve one another redirects freedom toward others. October autonomy culture prizes freedom without service. Gospel freedom washes feet. Check where you have used Christian liberty to ignore people. Serve through love—motivated care, not grim duty. Freedom that will not serve is still flesh wearing a Jesus shirt. Call one another into this use of liberty. Serve a sibling's need this week with the time you could have spent on yourself alone. Called to freedom means called into love's labor.

PrayerLord, You called me to freedom—keep me from fleshly license, and teach me to serve others through love. Amen.
