Love Perfects
Luke 15:20He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. The son walks; the father runs. Long way off does not block compassion. Saw, felt, ran, embraced, kissed—a cascade of mercy. October relationships need fathers and mothers, friends and spouses, who run toward repentant people. If you are the long-way-off child, arise and come; compassion may already be scanning the road. If you are the waiting one, refuse cold dignity—run. Embrace before the speech finishes. Kiss before the resume of failure is recited. God runs like this toward us in Christ. Copy the pace of mercy at home this week.
PrayerFather, thank You for running toward the long-way-off—help me arise and come, and help me run with Your compassion. Amen.
