Grace for Recovery
2 Corinthians 1:4Who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Comfort received becomes comfort shared. All our affliction and any affliction widen the circle. God comforts you on purpose for others. October pain can feel isolating; this verse drafts you into ministry after mercy. Do not waste comfort on private stockpiling. Someone in any affliction needs what you were given. Pass it along with honesty about your own story. Comfort with which we ourselves are comforted keeps the source clear—God, then you as steward. Affliction becomes a classroom for empathy. Receive fully. Then go find a person who needs the same warmth you needed.
PrayerGod of comfort, comfort me in affliction, and make me able to comfort others with what I have received from You. Amen.
