Hope Beside the Bed
2 Corinthians 1:3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. October opens with blessing God for who He is: Father of mercies, God of all comfort. All comfort claims no category of pain outside His reach. Mercies plural suggest fresh supplies. Health struggles, grief, and fatigue belong under this title. Bless Him before you feel comforted—praise is sometimes the doorway. Bring affliction to the Father of mercies rather than to numb distractions. All comfort does not mean instant relief; it means a God adequate for every wound. Start the month by naming Him rightly. Then ask for the comfort His name promises. Churches that bless this God become soft places for the hurting to land.
PrayerFather of mercies and God of all comfort, I bless You—meet my affliction with the mercy Your name declares. Amen.
