Rest From Striving
John 14:13Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Asking in Jesus' name means according to His character and authority, aiming at the Father's glory in the Son. Provision requests find their purpose clause here: glory, not ego. This I will do is strong promise inside that frame. Align asks with what glorifies Father and Son—needs met for mission, help that showcases mercy, wisdom that displays His care. Strip requests of self-exaltation. September projects and bills can be prayed in His name for God's fame. Count on Him to do what fits that glory. Name-asking is relationship, not a password. Come through the Son. Expect the Father to be honored in how He answers.
PrayerLord Jesus, I ask in Your name—do what glorifies the Father in You, and provide according to that holy aim. Amen.
