Rest Is Holy
John 14:27Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Jesus bequeaths peace unlike the world's—deeper than circumstance management. Leave and give are gift verbs. Troubled and afraid hearts receive a command grounded in His presence. Not as the world gives means His peace does not depend on news cycles cooperating. Receive peace as inheritance from the Son. Health crises trouble hearts; His peace can still rule. Refuse fear's full occupation. Call for His peace by name in the night. Worldly peace is a temporary ceasefire; Christ's peace is a Person's presence. Let hearts unclench. September can be loud; His gift is quieter and stronger.
PrayerLord Jesus, give me Your peace—not as the world gives—and quiet my troubled, afraid heart. Amen.
