A Gentle Bond

If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you.

Matthew 5:23

So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you... Worship pauses for reconciliation. Remembering a rupture mid-offering is mercy, not distraction. Gift and altar matter; unresolved offense matters enough to interrupt. September restart energy can include repaired relationships. Who has something against you that you have delayed facing? Leave the gift—delay the religious performance—and go. First be reconciled, then offer. God prefers peacemaking to polished spirituality that ignores people. Take the awkward step today: a call, a confession, a request to talk. Altars will still be there. Brothers and sisters may not wait forever. Love weighs more than uninterrupted ritual. Let memory of offense become fuel for courage, not for shame that freezes you.

PrayerLord, when I remember a ruptured relationship in Your presence, give me courage to go and seek reconciliation first. Amen.
