Strength in Waiting
Luke 17:19Then he said to him, "Get up, and go your way. Your faith has healed you."
And He said to him, Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well. One grateful leper hears rise, go, and wellness tied to faith. Rising from the posture of thanks, he goes differently. Faith and gratitude braided. Nine others were cleansed too; this one returned and received this word. Wellness includes the relationship of thankfulness with Jesus. Rise from passivity. Go your way as a thanker. If God has cleansed or helped you in any measure, return before you vanish into the crowd. Faith that makes well keeps dialoguing with the Healer. August forgetfulness is easy after relief. Put remembrance on the calendar. Say thank You out loud. Then go—back to family, work, and worship—as someone whose faith has a Person at the center.
PrayerLord Jesus, I rise to thank You—let faith make me well, and keep gratitude from fading after relief. Amen.
