Open Hands
Luke 12:32Don't be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Little flock names smallness without contempt. Fear not answers provision anxiety. Good pleasure means the Father enjoys giving the kingdom—not grudging scraps. Kingdom as gift outranks the lesser fears about stuff. You are little and loved. Receive the kingdom as heirs, then hold possessions loosely. August fears about future security meet a smiling Giver. Good pleasure rewrites the story of a reluctant God. Rest in being a flock under a pleased Father. Go after the kingdom without the panic of orphans. Share freely because the big gift is already pledged. Little does not mean forgotten. That truth can lower your shoulders before you check a bank balance or a news alert.
PrayerFather, it is Your good pleasure to give the kingdom—quiet my fear, and help me live as a loved little flock. Amen.
