Love Lights the Room
Genesis 2:18The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him."
Then the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him. Not good alone—God diagnoses isolation before Adam complains. Helper fit is strength alongside, not inferior afterthought. Fit means corresponding, matched for communion and mission. Aloneness can be vocation for a season, yet God's design elevates companionship as gift. Honor marriage as one answer to this not-good; also honor friendship and church as means against crushing solitude. If you are alone and aching, tell God you agree with His diagnosis and ask for fitting help. If you have a fit helper, treat them as answer to not-good, not as furniture. August loneliness is real; God's intent for companionship is older than your ache. Go after fitting community under His hand.
PrayerLord God, You said alone is not good—provide fitting companionship, and help me honor the helpers You have already given. Amen.
