God Makes a Way
2 Corinthians 9:7Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Decision in the heart protects giving from manipulation and from impulse without thought. Reluctance and compulsion describe gifts that move money without joy. God loves a cheerful giver—glad participation in His generosity. Decide thoughtfully: pray, plan, pledge what you can. Then give cheerfully, not with a martyr sigh. July appeals will come; let heart-decision lead rather than pressure. Cheerfulness grows when you remember grace given to you first. If reluctance dominates, ask why—fear, control, past hurt—and bring that to God rather than forcing fake smiles. Love of a cheerful giver means your gladness matters to Him, not only the amount.
PrayerLord, form cheerful giving in me—decided in heart, free from compulsion, glad because You first gave. Amen.
