The Law of Love
Proverbs 19:14House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.
House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. Inheritance can give house and wealth; a prudent wife is singled out as the Lord's gift. Prudence is wise skill in living—discernment, foresight, steady goodness—not mere quietness. Celebrate that gift if it is yours; seek to become prudent whether spouse or not. Fathers can pass money; God forms the kind of partnership money cannot buy. Refuse reducing a spouse's worth to income or charm. Honor prudence as wealth of another kind. If inheritance has complicated your story, still receive the proverb's point: the best gifts in a home are from the Lord. Lay before Him for prudence in your own role. Speak thanks to Him for wise love wherever it dwells under your roof.
PrayerLord, house and wealth may come by inheritance, but prudent love is from You. Form prudence in our homes and hearts. Amen.
