He Sees Your Need
Malachi 3:11I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before its time in the field," says the Lord of Armies."
I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts. Continuing Malachi's call to faithful giving, God promises to rebuke what devours harvest. Devourer language fits pests and losses that erase labor. God cares whether work yields fruit. Read it as His commitment to protect provision for a people returning to faithfulness—not as a charm against every business downturn. Pray that God would rebuke devouring patterns in your life: waste, fraud, impulsive loss, spiritual sabotage of diligence. Tend your vine with integrity. Put your confidence in the Lord of hosts with fruit that could fail. When losses come anyway, still refuse the devourer's deeper aim—to make you accuse God and quit generosity.
PrayerLord of hosts, rebuke what devours the fruit of honest work. Guard our provision as we walk in faithfulness toward You. Amen.
