Still Being Held
Matthew 8:16When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.
That evening they brought to Him many who were oppressed by demons, and He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. Evening mercy: people bring the oppressed and sick to Jesus, and He answers with authority—spirits gone with a word, sickness healed. Bringing is an act of faith and love. You may need to bring yourself or someone else again tonight—in prayer, to church elders, to wise care. Casting out with a word shows effortless authority; healing all in the scene shows wide compassion. Spiritual oppression and bodily sickness both matter to Him. Do not minimize either. Ask Christ to speak a freeing word over what binds, and to heal what is sick. Then stay near Him after evening, not only in crisis.
PrayerLord Jesus, people brought the oppressed and sick to You—and You freed and healed. I bring needs to You again tonight. Amen.
