Love Endures
Proverbs 18:24A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Quantity of companions is not safety; depth is. Ruin can come through crowds that cheer folly. A sticking friend stays closer than blood sometimes—loyalty under pressure. Audit your circle this July. Which relationships stick, and which only gather for entertainment? Invest in the friend who tells truth and remains. Become that friend for someone who is one hard week from ruin. Many companions on a screen can leave you lonely and unwise. Closer than a brother is a high gift—thank God if you have it, pray for it if you lack it, and practice stickiness when it would be easier to ghost. Loyalty is love with endurance.
PrayerLord, save me from ruinous crowds and give me—and make me—a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Amen.
