A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Friendship that only loves in pleasant weather is a seasonal decoration. All times includes boredom, failure, and inconvenient need. A brother born for adversity arrives when trouble starts—kinship that shows up. July gatherings reveal who stays when the party ends. Be the friend who loves at all times: text after the hard appointment, bring a meal, tell truth gently. Press toward friends like that, and become family to someone in adversity even if blood does not bind you. Love at all times will cost evenings and ego. Adversity is not an interruption of friendship; it is one of friendship's reasons for existing. Give thanks to God for any such person in your life, then imitate them.

PrayerLord, make me a friend who loves at all times and a brother or sister born for adversity. Thank You for those who have been that for me. Amen.
