Release and Receive
Deuteronomy 28:12The Lord will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, and you will not borrow.
The Lord will open to you His good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. Covenant blessing language for Israel's obedience includes rain, work blessed, and freedom from predatory borrowing. Read it as a window into God's generous intent, not as an American prosperity entitlement. Good treasury and rain in season picture timely provision. Blessed work of your hands dignifies labor. Lending rather than borrowing describes stability under God. On Independence Day, thank God for any freedom and provision you have, repent national and personal greed, and bless the work of your hands without baptizing every ambition. Plead for rain in season—what you need when you need it—and stay free from debt slavery that pretends to be provision.
PrayerLord, open Your good treasury as You will. Bless the work of my hands, and keep me from bondage to debt and pride. Amen.
