Love That Lifts
1 Peter 3:8Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tender hearted, courteous.
Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. All of you—widens the call beyond marriage contexts nearby. Unity of mind aims at shared gospel direction; sympathy feels with others; brotherly love acts in loyalty; tender heart stays soft; humble mind refuses status games. June communities fracture when these five are scarce. Pick the deficit you recognize in yourself. Practice sympathy by asking a better question before advising. Practice humble mind by celebrating someone else's win. Tender hearts can still be brave; they simply will not weaponize hardness. The church should feel like this list when it is healthy. Contribute your part without waiting for everyone else to mature first. Love becomes tangible in these ordinary virtues worn together.
PrayerLord, form in us unity, sympathy, brotherly love, tender hearts, and humble minds. Start with me today. Amen.
