1 Peter 3:7You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.
Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. Understanding and honor are required; co-heir status is underlined. Weaker vessel is about comparative physical vulnerability in general, never about lesser dignity—heirs with you blocks contempt. Live with understanding means study your wife as a person, not a role. Honor her in speech publicly and privately. Hindered prayers are a sobering consequence of dishonor at home; God ties spiritual vitality to how you treat your spouse. Wonder honestly what understanding requires this week. Apologize for honor withheld. Pray together if you can. Grace of life is shared; treat it that way.
