Mind at Rest
Proverbs 14:30The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot. Inner climate affects the body—proverbial wisdom long before modern stress studies. Tranquility is not denial; it is a heart settled under God. Envy rots: comparison eats sleep, gratitude, and sometimes health. Bones rotting is vivid language for what bitterness does over time. Name the envy that has been chewing on you—someone's marriage, body, income, ease. Replace it with a tranquil practice: thanksgiving for your actual portion, prayer for the person you envy, a walk without your phone. Life to the flesh grows where the heart rests. In prayer, ask God for tranquility that is honest about hard things yet free from corrosive comparison. Rot stops when envy is confessed and released.
PrayerLord, give me a tranquil heart that gives life to my flesh. Expose envy and heal what it has been rotting. Amen.
