See Them Truly
Colossians 3:19Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them.
Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Harshness is named because it is common—sharp tones, cold withdrawal, sarcastic cutting, intimidation dressed as leadership. Love and non-harshness belong together. You can be right in content and wrong in climate. If harshness has become your default under stress, repent specifically. Soften without becoming passive; strength can be gentle. Wives and families blossom under love that does not scorch. Ask forgiveness where your words have burned. Attempt a slower reply tonight. Christ is not harsh with His bride; husbands learn from Him. The church should also refuse harshness in spiritual authority. June can be a month of gentler speech under the same roof. Love protects; harshness pretends to protect while it damages.
PrayerLord, teach husbands to love without harshness. Heal what sharp words have wounded, and make our homes gentle. Amen.
