Not Forgotten
Proverbs 13:11Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. Haste loves schemes, shortcuts, and denial of process. Little by little sounds boring until you watch hasty wealth evaporate through folly or fraud. Increase through steady gathering honors work, patience, and ordinary faithfulness—paychecks saved, skills grown, generosity budgeted. This proverb rebukes get-rich fantasies without scorning wise opportunity. Check any haste in your financial life: debt for image, gambling dressed as investing, neglecting small faithfulness while chasing a windfall. Gather little by little with integrity. Increase that lasts usually looks unspectacular in the middle months. Trust God with slow growth. Refuse shame if you are starting small; refuse arrogance if you are further along. Steady hands under God outlast hasty piles.
PrayerLord, save me from hasty wealth and teach me to gather little by little with integrity and patience. Amen.
