Closer Through Christ
Colossians 3:12Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance.
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Clothing language means these virtues are worn on purpose, not waited for as moods. Chosen, holy, beloved—identity precedes the outfit. You dress from belonging, not to earn it. Compassionate hearts notice pain; kindness moves toward it; humility tells the truth about self; meekness uses strength without bullying; patience stays when irritation screams leave. June relationships need this wardrobe daily. Put on one piece you usually forget—perhaps patience in traffic of personalities, or humility in a debate. God's beloved people can afford to dress down pride. Wear the list until it fits more naturally, and when you fail, put it on again after apology.
PrayerLord, I am chosen and beloved—help me put on compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience today. Amen.
