Welcome Home

Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Ephesians 5:33

However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Love and respect are named without canceling mutual submission taught nearby. Each one—personal responsibility, not waiting for the other to go first forever. Loving as yourself means practical care: food, safety, emotional presence, shared load. Respect means honoring weight and speaking without contempt. Homes unravel when love grows cold and respect turns to eye-rolling. Pick the word aimed at your temptation. If love is your call, act it before you feel it fully. If respect is your call, rebuild it with words and posture. Christ can restore both where contempt has nested. Begin tonight with one clear act that matches the verse's assignment.

PrayerLord, teach husbands to love and wives to respect—and teach all of us to refuse contempt. Repair what sarcasm has damaged. Amen.
