Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. The measure is Christ, not cultural romance scripts. Gave Himself up—love spends self for the beloved's good, including holiness and care. Husbands are addressed with a high call; the whole church also learns Christ's pattern here. If you are a husband, ask where self-protection has replaced self-giving this week. If you are not, still receive the picture of Christ's love for His people and mirror it in your covenants. Love that gives itself up listens, provides, protects, and refuses contempt. June nights are long enough for a hard apology and a new habit. Christ loved the church to the cross; start with the next costly kindness under your roof.
PrayerLord Jesus, You gave Yourself up for Your people. Form that same self-giving love in our marriages and covenants. Amen.
