Love Shares the Load
Ephesians 5:21Subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.
Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Mutual submission is not a personality contest or a erasure of wisdom; it is a posture born from reverence for Christ. In marriage, friendship, and church life, people who will not yield become unsafe. Submission here is reciprocal—listening, preferring, making room—without denying responsibility or enabling abuse. Out of reverence means Jesus is why you soften. Where do you demand to win every logistical disagreement? Try yielding in a small preference today without sarcasm. Reverence for Christ dismantles the myth that love means never adjusting. Strong people can submit; insecure people often cannot. Let June reshape how you enter shared decisions. Christ at the center makes mutual yielding worship rather than defeat.
PrayerLord Jesus, out of reverence for You, teach me to submit to others wisely and gladly where love requires yielding. Amen.
