Work and Wonder
Proverbs 3:10So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
Then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. This follows honoring the Lord with firstfruits—abundance language inside wisdom's world, not a blank check for greed. Barns and vats picture agricultural provision: enough that overflows for feast and sharing. Read it as encouragement that God is not stingy with people who put Him first, and also refuse to twist it into guaranteed wealth. Plenty can mean sufficiency with joy rather than endless accumulation. If barns feel empty this June, keep honoring God anyway; faithfulness is not a vending machine. If barns feel full, burst with generosity, not pride. Ask whether your storage exists to hoard or to serve. Overflowing vats are for celebration under God, not for numbing anxiety with excess.
PrayerLord, You know my barns and my need. Teach me to honor You first and to handle plenty or lack with trust. Amen.
