Ephesians 5:2Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Love here has a shape: self-giving, costly, aimed at God as worship and at people as gift. Sentiment without sacrifice will not carry a household through June heat and ordinary conflict. Christ's love set the pattern—He gave Himself up. Walking implies continuity, not a single dramatic gesture. Choose one concrete self-giving act today that costs convenience: listening when you wanted to win, serving when you wanted credit, staying when leaving would be easier. Fragrant offering language lifts love out of mere mutual benefit into worship. Let your relationships smell like sacrifice gladly offered, not scorekeeping. Christ loved first; walk that way among the people you see before nightfall.
PrayerLord Jesus, You gave Yourself up in love. Help me walk in that same self-giving love with the people near me. Amen.
