Mercy for Exhaustion
Psalm 63:1God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh faints for You, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Desire for God here includes bodily ache. Dry seasons are not proof of God's absence; they are landscapes where seeking becomes earnest. Thirst admits need without shame. Flesh fainting can be depression, illness, exhaustion, or spiritual drought—bring it honestly. Go after with the energy you have: a psalm read slowly, a walk that prays, a request for anointing oil and ordinary care. God is not only for peak experiences. In a weary land, seek the One who is your God still. Let longing itself become prayer until water finds you.
PrayerGod, You are my God—I seek You earnestly. Meet my thirst in this dry place, body and soul. Amen.
