Supply for the Season
Psalm 56:3When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. The line tells the truth about timing: fear is admitted, and trust is chosen in its presence—not after fear politely leaves. Something Else days need this honesty more than slogans. Fear of news, of failure, of illness, of being known—name it. Then place trust as an act: prayer, obedience, refusing the spiral of imagined catastrophes. Trust is not the absence of adrenaline; it is allegiance while adrenaline speaks. Practice the sentence aloud when anxiety rises this afternoon. Put trust in God, not in your ability to control every outcome. Courage often looks like scared people who keep faith anyway. You can join them without pretending to be unshakeable.
PrayerLord, when I am afraid, I will trust You. Meet me in the fear I am naming, and hold my allegiance steady. Amen.
