Look Up From the Ledger
2 Peter 1:3Seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and virtue. Provision language here is comprehensive for Christian living: what you need for life with God is not locked behind a paywall of spiritual elites. Knowledge of Christ is the channel—relationship, not mere information. Life and godliness include wisdom for work, strength for holiness, and grace for ordinary duties. Receive what has already been granted instead of living as if God forgot to equip you. Then use the means He gives: Word, prayer, fellowship, wise stewardship. Divine power aims at godliness, not at unlocking every luxury you can imagine or demand.
PrayerLord, You have granted what pertains to life and godliness. Teach me to receive and use those gifts through knowing You. Amen.
