Healing Hands of God
1 Peter 5:9Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. Resistance is steadied by communion: you are not the only one under pressure. Isolation tells a lying story that your pain is unique and therefore hopeless. The brotherhood's shared sufferings include illness, persecution, family strain, and weary faith. Firm faith is not loud certainty; it is loyal trust under fire. When suffering hits today, remember distant siblings in Christ and pray for them by name if you can. Let solidarity replace self-pity. Withstand together—through Scripture, presence, and mutual courage—so the adversary finds a people, not scattered prey. Shared suffering situates your pain inside communion that can carry prayer both ways.
PrayerLord, help me withstand in firm faith, knowing brothers and sisters worldwide share suffering. Knit me to them in prayer and courage. Amen.
