The Shepherd Provides
1 Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God so that He may exalt you in due time. Humility is placement under God, not self-hatred. His hand can feel heavy in waiting seasons—delayed provision, unanswered timelines, slow change. Due time belongs to Him; shoving the clock is not faith. Humbling yourself looks like honest prayer, refusal to manipulate outcomes, and diligent work without frantic self-exaltation. Trust that exaltation—lifting, vindication, relief—comes as His wise gift, not as a right you can extract. Under that hand, provision anxiety loosens its sermon. Wait without fretting someone else's faster story. God knows when to lift what you cannot lift yourself. Due time is not denial; it is wise timing that will not crush you.
PrayerMighty God, I humble myself under Your hand. I trust Your timing to lift me without my shoving the clock. Amen.
