Heal the Distance
James 1:12Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.
Blessed is the one who remains steadfast under trial, for when they have stood the test they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. Steadfastness is love under pressure—staying with God and with people when escape would be easier. The crown is promised, not self-awarded; it belongs to lovers of God who endured. Trials in relationship often tempt you to quit love and call it wisdom. James points another way: remain. Stand the test without becoming cruel. Love God enough to keep truth and tenderness together. When today's trial presses, remember the promise ahead and the love that already claimed you. Blessing rests on the enduring path, not the dramatic exit.
PrayerLord, keep me steadfast under trial. Let my love for You hold when pressure tells me to quit people or quit hope. Amen.
