Love That Stayed
Romans 5:8But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Good Friday is not inspirational tragedy; it is love demonstrated. God shows His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The timing wrecks self-improvement religion. Love arrived before you cleaned up the timeline, before you felt worthy of a cross. Still sinners—yet loved enough for the Son to die. Hold that without rushing to Easter songs for a moment. Feel the weight land: your worst day does not outvote Calvary. Then live accordingly—less performance for acceptance you already needed mercy to receive, more honesty about sin because mercy already met it. Worship today by refusing both despair and casualness before such costly love. Sit with the demonstration until gratitude has nowhere left to hide.
PrayerFather, You proved Your love while we were still sinners—Christ died for us. On this Good Friday I worship, confess, and rest in that demonstration. Amen.
