Oil of Joy
Ephesians 3:20Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above asking and thinking, by power at work in us. Wonderful promise—and easily twisted into prosperity slogans. Keep it tied to God's power and purposes, not to every private wish list. Lent asks for desires to be purified so "above all we ask" does not mean "fund my ego." Still, refuse small faith that never expects God to act. Pray large prayers for salvation, healing of relationships, courage, and provision as He wills. Then leave room for answers that exceed your script. Power working in us points to Spirit-enabled living, not only external fireworks. Expect more than you can blueprint while surrendering outcomes to the Able One. Large prayers paired with surrendered outcomes keep wonder and holiness together. Ask big; clutch soft.
PrayerAble God, do beyond what I ask or imagine according to Your power in us—always in line with Your wisdom and character. Amen.
