Nearer Still
Ephesians 2:10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
Workmanship—God's crafting—creates people in Christ Jesus for good works prepared beforehand. You are not self-made, and your path of love is not random. Prepared works wait to be walked in: ordinary obedience with divine scheduling. This verse is vocation, not a paycheck promise, so it sits better outside thin provision tagging. Ask what good work is prepared for today—encouragement, integrity, generosity, care for a child. Walk in it without needing a spotlight. Being crafted by God gives dignity when you feel useless and gives direction when you feel restless. Look for prepared paths rather than inventing a heroic identity from scratch. Craftsmanship implies ongoing shaping; yield to it. Prepared paths often look like interruptions that serve someone else's need. Walk them as crafted, not as random chores.
PrayerFather, I am Your workmanship. Lead me into the good works You prepared, and keep me from both laziness and performative striving. Amen.
