Power Perfected
Galatians 5:1Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Freedom Christ won can be traded back for bondage if you are not watchful. Stand firm is the posture; entanglement is the threat. Yokes may be legalism, people-pleasing, addiction, or bitter control. Lent freedom is not license to indulge the flesh; it is release to love God and neighbor without slavery. Notice what tugs the old yoke toward your neck—shame, fear, a community that only values performance. Stand by returning to the gospel, asking for help, and refusing the first link of the chain. Liberty requires vigilance because bondage often arrives dressed as responsibility or as comfort. Stay free on purpose. Freedom maintained is freedom loved. Inspect your week for threads that want to become ropes again. Liberty tastes sweeter when you remember the price Christ paid to cut the old straps.
PrayerChrist our freedom, keep me standing in liberty. Untangle what keeps trying to re-yoke my shoulders. Amen.
