Light for the Path
1 Corinthians 15:58Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work—because labor in Him is not vain. Resurrection chapter grounds ordinary ministry. This is not primarily a finance proverb; it is encouragement for kingdom work that looks fruitless on Friday. Retagging it for clear theology: your prayers, service, parenting, and integrity are not wasted in Christ. Lent can feel like quiet sowing. Keep abounding—overflowing effort—without frantic proving. Immovable does not mean inflexible methods; it means unshaken loyalty to the Lord. When metrics disappoint, return to the because clause. Vanity is what you fear; resurrection power disagrees. Do the next faithful task and leave the scoreboard with God. Abounding work can be quiet faithfulness in a small place. Leave vanity fears at the empty tomb's announcement.
PrayerLord, make me steadfast and abounding in Your work. Remind me that labor in You is never empty, even when results hide. Amen.
