Word Made Near
Romans 10:9That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Confession with the mouth and belief in the heart join public acknowledgment to inner trust. Jesus is Lord—not consultant. Resurrection faith is specific: God raised Him, so death does not have the last word and Jesus reigns. Salvation is promised to that confessing, believing person. Lent is a fitting season to renew both halves if one has lagged—silent belief without witness, or words without heart. Try a simple confession today: tell God, and if wise, tell a person, that Jesus is Lord of a corner you had reserved for yourself. Belief about resurrection should change how you face mortality and despair. Saved people still grow; they do not outgrow this foundation. Return to mouth and heart together whenever faith feels merely private or merely verbal.
PrayerLord Jesus, I confess You with my mouth and trust Your resurrection in my heart. Hold me in the salvation this promise describes. Amen.
