Stay Awake to Grace

No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:37

Paul's "more than conquerors" sits inside a list of hardships—tribulation, famine, danger—not a victory lap for comfortable people. Conquest comes through Him who loved us, which means love is the power source, not ego. Lent keeps reminding you that winning looks like faithfulness under pressure. When several troubles arrive in the same week, the temptation is to declare yourself defeated early. This verse disagrees. Through the Beloved, you can outlast what would otherwise define you. Conquerors in Christ still cry and still ask for help; they simply refuse to crown suffering as lord. Name the cluster of hard things you face. Place "through him who loved us" after the list like a seal. Then take the next obedient step—make the appointment, tell the truth, keep praying—as someone already loved into victory.

PrayerJesus who loved us, make Your victory my courage today. When troubles stack up, teach me to conquer by clinging to Your love, not by pretending I am unbreakable. Amen.
