Peace With People
Ephesians 4:2With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love.
Lowliness, humility, patience, and bearing with one another in love—Paul stacks the postures that keep community from shredding. Bearing with is not pretending annoyance vanishes; it is choosing love while annoyance is still audible. Winter proximity tests this. Family members and coworkers reveal edges. Lowliness refuses the pedestal. Patience stretches time for someone else's growth. Pick the trait you most lack this month and ask for it before a predictable friction point. Love is the atmosphere in which the other traits breathe. Practice one patient response that would normally escalate. Bearing with one another is how imperfect people stay in fellowship long enough for grace to work. Bearing with one another is love with a long fuse. Stretch yours by ten minutes in the next tense exchange.
PrayerLord, clothe me with humility and patience. Help me bear with the people close to me in love that lasts past irritation. Amen.
