Provision in Motion
Psalm 128:2For you will eat the labor of your hands. You will be happy, and it will be well with you.
Eating the labor of your hands, with happiness and well-being, honors ordinary work. Provision through labor is celebrated, not despised. Happiness here is tied to rightful fruit, not to schemes. If your work feels thankless, this verse dignifies it. If you long for honest work, pray toward it. Well-being includes more than cash—satisfaction that what you do feeds life. Avoid two ditches: scorning manual or daily labor as unspiritual, and treating income as the only measure of a good life. Give thanks to God for skills and jobs. Share labor's fruit. Ask Him to make well with you in the deeper sense as you work faithfully this week. Happiness in honest labor pushes back against envy of flashier paths. Bless the work that feeds real life.
PrayerLord, bless the labor of my hands. Provide work and fruit that are honest, and teach me gladness in what You give me to do. Amen.
