Trust the Giver
Psalm 104:28You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good.
God gives; creatures gather. He opens His hand; they are satisfied with good. Gathering is your part—work, glean, receive—while giving remains God's. Satisfaction with good again guards against endless craving. If provision has felt like chasing scraps, notice the open hand in the verse. Prayer can be a gathering basket held out without shame. Community can be where gathering happens when your own field is thin. Refuse pride that will not accept help and fear that will not stop hoarding. Open-hand satisfaction frees you to gather diligently and share promptly. Good is measured by God's wisdom meeting real need, not by comparison with a neighbor's highlight reel. Gathering without gratitude turns provision into a grim project. Pause long enough to notice the hand that opened toward you.
PrayerOpen-handed Lord, I gather what You give. Satisfy me with good, and keep me from mistaking greed for necessity. Amen.
