Speak Life Today
Romans 12:18If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
Peace with everyone is limited by the phrase "as much as it is up to you." Paul refuses both conflict addiction and fake harmony that denies harm. You control your posture, apologies, and boundaries; you do not control another person's willingness. Winter relational freeze is common—old arguments iced over. Ask what still lies in your power: a softened tone, a clear boundary without spite, a refusal to gossip. Peace pursued wisely may look like stepping back rather than forcing a hug. Where reconciliation is possible, take the step before pride thickens. Where it is not, keep your side clear of bitterness. Possibility language protects you from crushing guilt over another adult's choices while still calling you to courageous peacemaking.
PrayerGod of peace, show me what is still up to me. I want clean hands in conflict—brave apology where needed, wise distance where required. Amen.
