Rise Again
Psalm 34:18The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Nearness is promised to the brokenhearted; salvation to the crushed in spirit. God does not stand across the room with advice only; He draws close. Crushed spirit names depression, grief, and despair that flatten prayer into silence. Near is enough of a word to hold onto when sentences fail. If that is you, whisper the verse and stop trying to sound strong. If you love someone crushed, embody nearness—presence without fixing speeches. The Lord who saves the crushed still uses people as His nearness with skin. Ask Him to come close to the exact fracture you carry, and leave the timeline of mending in His hands while you take the next small step of care. Nearness may arrive first as a friend's quiet company that feels like God's own.
PrayerLord, come near to my broken heart. Save what is crushed in me, and make Your presence denser than my despair. Amen.
