Provision With Peace
Psalm 84:11For the Lord God is a sun and a shield. The Lord will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.
Sun and shield—light and protection—frame the Lord's giving of grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly. "Good" remains His definition. Upright walking is integrity, not perfectionism. When a request seems denied, this verse invites trust that withholding can be kindness when the thing would harm. When a gift arrives, receive it as grace, not entitlement. Provision sits inside relationship: God as sun for guidance and warmth, shield for defense. Check your walk for crooked shortcuts that sabotage trust. Then ask boldly for what is good. The Lord who gives grace and glory knows how to supply without spoiling your soul. Good things arrive on paths of integrity more often than on shortcuts.
PrayerLord God, my sun and shield, give grace for today and every truly good gift I need. Keep my walk upright as I trust Your generosity. Amen.
