Christ in You
John 8:12Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."
Jesus claims to be the light of the world and invites followers out of darkness into the light of life. Following is the hinge—light is personal and directional. January resolutions often aim at self-improvement; Jesus aims at apprenticeship. Walking in light means choices become visible: honesty where you preferred shadows, repentance where secrecy grew. If the holidays left emotional fog, take His hand as Light rather than merely as inspiration. Darkness can be confusion, sin, or despair; none of them outrank Him. Practice a daily follow—one obedient step illuminated by Scripture before you scroll. The light of life is not a mood lamp; it is Christ Himself leading people who would otherwise gropes. Stay close enough to see where He walks.
PrayerJesus, Light of the world, I follow You out of dark habits and foggy fears. Shine on my first steps this year and keep me in the light of life. Amen.
